Two men were injured after a pair of separate industrial accidents in North York early Thursday afternoon.

In the first incident at around 12:30 p.m., a city worker suffered serious but non-life threatening injuries when he fell onto the top of a transport truck that had collided with his rig near Jane Street and Steeles Avenue.

According to Toronto Fire, the male worker was changing a street light at the time.

The second incident occurred at a work site near Yonge Street and Steeles Avenue about five minutes later.

In that incident, police say a man in his 40s fell about 16 feet into a hole at a work site and had to be rescued by emergency responders.

The man suffered injuries to his neck and back, but the severity of his injuries is not known.
