TORONTO -- The union representing workers at Loblaws says its members have rejected a tentative agreement reached with the company.

The United Food and Commercial Workers Union posted a statement on its website saying it would be reaching out to the grocery chain about a return to the bargaining table.

In the meantime the union says it's ramping up strike preparations.

It says picket captains have been called upon for training that will be conducted this week.

The proposed agreement with the grocery chain that the workers rejected was reached earlier this month.
