WINNIPEG -- A Winnipeg woman who offered to donate part of her liver to an 11-year-old girl has found out she is not a match.

Allexis Siebrecht, who 11, needs a liver transplant within six to 12 months.

Samantha Lussier stepped up to donate and after meeting most of the requirements, went to Toronto last weekend to undergo more tests.

Those tests determined 24-year-old Lussier is not a match.

The search for a donor with type-O blood is continuing.

Allexis was diagnosed when she was a baby with biliary atresia, which impedes bile transport from the liver to the small intestine.
