TORONTO -- A woman is facing charges and a male suspect is being sought after police say a Richmond Hill senior was defrauded of his savings and left in "deplorable" conditions.

Police say two people defrauded the 94-year-old man out of more than $500,000 between April and August.

It's alleged the woman befriended the victim and then married him in order to take over his finances.

York Regional Police say during their investigation, officers found the victim "living in deplorable conditions" in a Toronto condominium, but he has since been relocated to a safe and secure location.

Jia Fen (Judith) Pan, 45, of Toronto, is charged with fraud over $5,000 and failing to provide the necessities of life.

She has a court appearance in Newmarket on Nov. 15.

A Canada-wide warrant has been issued for Ke Fei (Ronnie) Liu, 47, of Toronto.
