TORONTO -- Kyle Lowry had a triple-double and as the Toronto Raptors routed the Washington Wizards 103-84 on Friday night to improve to 5-1 on the season, their best start in team history.

DeMar DeRozan had 25 points as four Raptors scored in double figures, including Lowry, who had 13 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists.

The Raptors led from start to finish in defeating the Wizards before a sellout crowd of 19,800 at Air Canada Centre as Toronto opened a franchise-record seven-game home stand.

With the victory, the Raptors third straight, Toronto moved into a first-place tie with the Chicago Bulls atop the NBA's Eastern Conference. The Wizards (4-2) are a game back.

Kris Humphries had 11 points for the Wizards while Marcin Gortat pulled down 10 rebounds.

On a night the Raptors held the first of seven 20th anniversary celebrations this season, the only blemish was that forward Amir Johnson, who missed the previous three games with a sore left ankle, went to Toronto's locker-room early in the second half after re-aggravating it and did not return.

The Raptors led 59-35 at halftime and continued to pour it on early in the third quarter.

DeRozan's basket at 2:58 of the quarter widened the Toronto lead to 28 points at 63-45.

The Wizards went on a 10-0 run over the next 1:49 but never seriously threatened to make it a game.

The first half was all Raptors.

Ross hit a 25-foot, three-point jumper to open the scoring and Toronto never trailed.

Ross had a game-high 11 points in the first quarter as the Raptors opened up a 28-18 lead, shooting a solid 55 per cent from the field compared to a woeful 31 per cent by the Wizards.

Toronto continued the domination in the second quarter.

Lowry, coming off a season-high 35-point performance in Boston on Wednesday, hit his only basket of the first half, a 24-foot, three-point shot with 4:16 to go, to widen the lead to 26 points at 53-27.

DeRozan led all scorers at the break with 15 points while Lowry added seven assists against a Wizards team that shot just 28 per cent from the field, including 0-for-8 on three-point attempts.
