CLEVELAND - Mike Sgarbossa had two goals and an assist, with his second coming 51 seconds into overtime, to give the Lake Erie Monsters a 4-3 victory over the Toronto Marlies on Thursday in American Hockey League action.

David van der Gulik opened the scoring for Lake Erie (23-16-3) at 3:53 of the first period. The Monsters have now won four in a row.

Nicolas Deschamps tied it for the Marlies at the 10:11 mark, and Toronto (23-12-4) went in front on a power-play goal by Simon Gysbers, his third of the season, at 18:33.

Sgarbossa tied the game with his 15th of the season on a power play at 7:43 of the second period. Tim Connolly put the Marlies back in front with a power-play goal at 9:22. Thomas Pock got the equalizer for Lake Erie at 12:52 of the second period.

Calvin Pickard made 26 saves for the Monsters. Jussi Rynnas finished with 23 saves for Toronto.

The Marlies finished 2 for 8 on the power-play, and the Monsters connected once on five power-play opportunities.
