Diana Petrucci, Reporter and Assignment Editor, CP24

Diana Petrucci joined CP24 – Toronto’s Breaking News Station – as a reporter and assignment editor in 2013.

Petrucci is passionate about delivering Toronto’s news. She loves everything about working at an all- news station in her home city and thrives in a 24-hour breaking news environment.

Prior to working at CP24, Petrucci was a traffic/weather reporter and news writer for CityNews Toronto for close to two years. From 2008 to 2010, she earned her reporter stripes at CityNews Winnipeg and CJBN-TV in Thunder Bay. Petrucci covered prominent news stories such as the 2010 Red River flooding in Manitoba and the 2009 TTC-Bombardier Transportation deal in Thunder Bay.

Petrucci enjoys reading, writing, and storytelling. An adventurous traveller, she spent a year living abroad in the U.K., has backpacked through Europe, and went on a rare tour of the largest slum in South America when she travelled to Rio de Janeiro in 2009.

In her spare time, Petruccienjoys networking with other globally-minded women in the city as the organizer for the Toronto chapter of the Go Girl Travel Network; a global sisterhood of 10,000 women that empowers women to travel the world, be independent and grow multicultural awareness among women.

Raised in Newmarket, ON, Petrucci now lives in Toronto. She holds an honours B.A in English from the University of Toronto, where she also completed courses in U of T’s Massey College Journalism program. Petrucci also completed post-graduate studies in journalism and new media at Sheridan College.

Petrucci is also a strong advocate for mental health awareness and animal rights. She enjoys curling up with a good book (often a travel guide!) and a good cup of coffee.
