TORONTO - Neil Young has made his first appearance at the Juno Awards for the first time in nearly three decades.

The 65-year-old Toronto-born rock legend was at last night's gala, where he received the adult alternative album of the year prize.

Arcade Fire, Daniel Lanois, Matthew Good and country crooner Johnny Reid also nabbed trophies at last night's gala, in which the bulk of this weekend's Junos were presented.

In one of the biggest upsets of the night, leading nominee Drake lost out to Shad for rap recording of the year.

Drake still has a chance to win hardware tonight when he hosts the 40th anniversary Junos bash at the Air Canada Centre.
