Durham police are searching for two suspects who allegedly threw incendiary devices at a home in Oshawa, prompting a brief evacuation Wednesday night.

Police said they received a call at 8:40 p.m. about two suspicious packages found at a residence near Valley Drive and Phillip Murray Avenue.

Investigators have determined that two suspects arrived in a dark-coloured pickup truck and allegedly used the vehicle to break the front door of the home.

“The suspects then threw a package through the front door and a second package at a window,” police allege.

Shortly after, officers arrived and discovered the packages. Police said they evacuated the home while the Explosive Device Unit (EDU) investigated.

“The packages were found to be incendiary devices and were rendered safe by EDU,” police said.

On Thursday, investigators released photos of the suspects and the vehicle described as a dark-coloured pickup truck with chrome trim and chrome gas cap cover.
