Toronto police have arrested three people in connection with an armed carjacking in Scarborough and are searching for a fourth suspect.

Police say that on Sunday, Jan. 26, shortly after 9 p.m., four suspects in a stolen Honda Civic arrived at a parking lot near Markham Road and Progress Avenue.

Investigators allege that three masked suspects approached a victim sitting inside their vehicle, produced handguns, and demanded they exit. The suspects then fled in the victim’s vehicle, along with the stolen Honda Civic.

Officers from 43 Division’s Hold Up Squad located the stolen vehicle and attempted to stop it.

Police say the stolen vehicle collided with a police cruiser, a parked car, and a tree before officers arrested three suspects. The original stolen Honda Civic was also located nearby.

That’s where investigators say they recovered a loaded Glock handgun from the Honda Civic.
