A school bus driver is accused of being intoxicated behind the wheel while transporting students to a Barrie high school Monday morning.
Police say the 48-year-old bus driver was pulled over on his way to take students to St. Joseph’s Catholic High School.
No injuries were reported.
The accused, from Oro-Medonte, has been charged with operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus). He has since been released from police custody with a future court date scheduled to answer to the charge.
The Simcoe County Student Transportation Consortium confirmed to CTV News the driver would no longer be driving a school vehicle on one of its contracted routes.
