Suspect sought after stabbing near St. Clair and Bathurst leaves man critically injured

Police say a man was seriously injured in a stabbing at a Popeyes restaurant near St. Clair Ave. and Bathurst St.

Police are searching for a suspect after a stabbing in midtown Toronto Thursday night that left a man critically injured.

It happened near St. Clair Avenue West and Bathurst Street at around 10:30 p.m.

Toronto police said a man, for unknown reasons, approached another man from behind and stabbed him.

The victim was located at the scene suffering from stab wounds and was transported to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Police said the suspect fled and was last seen eastbound on St. Clair Avenue West.

On Friday evening, investigators released a photo of the suspect, who is described as between 30 and 40 years old, five-foot-ten, and wearing blue jeans, black shoes, and a black jacket with a blue hood.
