A video on social media shows somebody hurling a tall, heavy pylon over the 14th-floor balcony of a Beltline Calgary high-rise.
Struggling with the weight of the object, the person in the video gets it up over the railing, then lets go.
Down to the snowy city sidewalk below, the object tumbles.
Turns out it was a traffic delineator pylon, police say—the kind that weighs roughly 13 pounds.
And police say it indeed crashed onto the sidewalk—in the 1100 block of 3rd Street S.E., in the middle of the day.
The incident occurred this past Saturday, with reports reaching police Monday, when the video started to take off.

Staff Sgt. Paul Ralstin says this situation was “incredibly dangerous.”
“We are lucky nobody was seriously hurt or even killed,” Ralstin said.
Investigation into the incident unfolded quickly, police said.
An arrest was announced on Tuesday afternoon.
Police say the accused, a 28-year-old Calgary woman, was taken into custody at a home on Calhoun Crescent N.E.
Police opted not to name the accused.
According to police, she now faces one charge of mischief causing danger to life.
“By laying (this charge), we hope to show how seriously police take crimes that some people think are simply pranks,” Ralstin said.
