The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) has seized $6.6 million worth of contraband nicotine over three days at the Blue Water Bridge crossing in Point Edward, Ont.
On Aug. 7, officers seized a total of 61,758 nicotine vapes from a commercial driver headed to Canada from the U.S. They said the estimated value was almost $2.8 million.
On Aug. 10, 570 kilograms of nicotine pouches from an American commercial driver were seized, valued at an estimated $835,200.
A second seizure took place the same day of 3,366 kilograms of nicotine pouches. The estimated value of that seizure was almost $3 million, bringing the total value of seizures to $6.6 million.
The CBSA did not say if any charges were laid.
