OTTAWA - Scott Andrews says he's "astounded" to learn through the media that he and fellow Liberal MP Massimo Pacettia are about to be turfed permanently from the Liberal fold over allegations of sexual misconduct.

The Newfoundland MP says he co-operated fully with an independent investigation into the allegations, levelled by two female New Democrat MPs.

The investigation was conducted by Toronto lawyer Cynthia Petersen, a human rights specialist who has investigated sexual harassment complaints in the private sector.

She handed her report to Liberal Leader Justin Trudeau last week.

Andrews says he was promised a copy of Petersen's executive summary before her conclusions were made public.

He says he's been waiting since Friday for that summary and has had no communication with Petersen, Trudeau or the party about the report.
