As part of a strategy to rebrand Cadillac Fairview’s shopping centres across Canada, the company said Monday it will be renaming Toronto’s Eaton Centre.
The official new name of the downtown mall will be “CF Toronto Eaton Centre."
The same naming convention will apply to all Cadillac Fairview malls including Sherway Gardens, which will become “CF Sherway Gardens.”
The company said the move is aimed at linking “the Corporation with a premium shopping experience in the minds of Canadian consumers over time.”
“Putting a new logo on the door is the easy part. The real work is designing and implementing changes to the way consumers experience our shopping centres,” Jason Anderson, senior vice president of marketing at Cadillac Fairview, said in a written statement released Monday.
“We know technology and unique and engaging experiences will play a big role in changing the way people think of the shopping mall.”
