Old Dutch Foods is recalling one of its popular flavours of chips due to a potential allergen.

In a recall and safety alert published by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency, Old Dutch announced it’s recalling its Ridgies Sour Cream, Green Onion & Bacon Flavour Potato Chips due to undeclared milk being a potential allergen risk.

“Do not use, sell, serve, or distribute,” the chips, the notification said on the Health Canada website.

The chips were distributed in Alberta, British Colombia, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Ontario, Prince Edward Island, Quebec and “possibly other provinces and territories,” according to the recall.

The chips were listed as a Class II recall, which means, “there is a moderate risk that consuming the food may lead to short-term or non-life threatening health problems,” according to Health Canada.

The chips come in 200-gram packages and can be identified by their Universal Product Code of 0 66343 21623 2.

The announcement was published Sept. 3.
