A man’s head was found along the banks of the Rivière des Prairies in the borough of Montreal North on Sunday afternoon.
Montreal police (SPVM) was called to the scene near the intersection of Albert-Brosseau Boulevard and Drapeau Avenue at 3 p.m.

Investigators, including the K9 unit and divers, have established a large perimeter to search for the rest of the body.
Police have identified the body part as belonging to a 40-year-old man.
The force says the incident is not related to a criminal event.
