Hörmann North America relocates operations to 21 Winstar Road in Oro-Medonte, Ont.

A new manufacturing facility officially opened its doors in Oro-Medonte, Ont., marking a shift of operations from Barrie to the township.

Hörmann North America opened its new 120,000-square-foot building, located on Winstar Road, which houses administration offices, sales and technical support, engineering teams, and a state-of-the-art production floor.

The facility specializes in manufacturing rubber doors and high-performance freezer doors used in cold storage and industrial settings.

The company says the move consolidates Canadian operations under one roof, with staff and production transferred from the company’s former Barrie site, located less than 15 kilometres away, on Fairview Road.

Officials say the expansion is a boost for the local economy, with new investment and long-term employment opportunities for the township.

According to Hörmann, the business has been steadily growing across North America since first establishing operations in Canada nearly two decades ago.

The facility officially opened on Wednesday.
