One of the men wanted for a double homicide in Greater Sudbury, Ont., has been arrested after fleeing the country.
Romaine Sam, 26, was arrested by agents with the Canadian Border Services Agency when he got off a plane Oct. 4 at Pearson International Airport in Toronto.

Sam was charged with two counts of second-degree murder in connection with shooting deaths at a Paris Street apartment building Aug. 29.
“Through the investigation, it was determined that Romaine Sam fled to southern Ontario shortly after the double homicide occurred and then left the country prior to being identified,” Sudbury police said in a news release Monday morning.
“Romaine Sam was arrested at Pearson International Airport upon returning to Canada.”

Police said Sam wasn’t deported but declined to say where he was coming from when he arrived at Pearson.
“As this remains an active homicide investigation, we will not be disclosing where he was coming from,” police spokesperson Kaitlyn Dunn said in an email Monday.
Greater Sudbury police officers took Sam into custody at Pearson International and took him back to Sudbury.
He appeared in weekend bail court Oct. 5 and was remanded into custody.
“Detectives continue to follow up on information to identify the other two men believed to be involved,” police said.
Anyone with information related to the identities of the other two men involved in the incident is asked to contact police at 705-675-9171 or Crime Stoppers at 705-222-8477.
