There’s no doubt the holiday season has begun now that Woody the Talking Christmas Tree is wide awake.
People gathered at Mic Mac Mall in Dartmouth Saturday morning to help “wake him up.” Special guest Santa Claus led a sing-along, which included the lyrics “wake up, Woody” and “it’s time to rise and shine.”
Once the singing was over, Woody opened his eyes and was ready to greet guests.
To mark the occasion, the mall held a festive pyjama party, which included free face painting, live entertainment, and glitter tattoos. Guests were also able to view the Boston Christmas Tree, and sign a holiday card for families in Boston, before it continued its journey south.

Woody made his long-awaited return to the mall in 2021 after he was last seen in 2006. He’s drawn international attention and even garnered a shoutout from late-night talk show host Jimmy Fallon.
The public can stop by and visit with Woody daily until Dec. 23.
