Woman, 60, dead following two-vehicle crash in Kawartha Lakes

Provincial police are investigating a fatal two-vehicle crash that occurred Monday afternoon in Kawartha Lakes.

Officers were called to Killarney Bay Road between Highway 35 and Cambray Road around 12:19 p.m. Police say two vehicles were involved in the collision.

A 60-year-old woman from Orillia was transported to a local hospital, where she was later pronounced dead. Police say the driver of the second vehicle was not injured.

At the time of the collision, weather conditions included falling snow limited visibility, according to police.

The OPP Traffic Incident Management and Enforcement Team assisted with the investigation.

Killarney Bay Road was closed between Highway 35 and Cambray Road for several hours and reopened around 8:26 p.m.

The investigation remains ongoing.
