The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) shared a nationwide recall for no name brand beef burgers due to a potential E. coli contamination.
In a news release published Monday, the CFIA advised customers and marketplaces to not consume, use, sell, serve, or distribute the recalled product.
The product recalled is:
- A 1.36 kg pack of the no name brand beef burgers
- UPC: 0 60383 37333 7
- Code: BEST BEFORE 2026 MA 05 B13 BMP EST 112
The notice said the recall was triggered by CFIA test results, adding that a food safety investigation was underway, and could result in a potential recall of other products.
There have been no reported illnesses associated with this recall, they added.

In case of suspected health concerns connected to the recalled product, the federal agency advises people to contact their health-care provider immediately.
Customers are also asked to check if they are in possession of the recalled product, and in that case, throw it out or return it to the location of purchase.
The food agency also warned that food contaminated with E. coli may not look or smell spoiled, but can cause extreme sickness if consumed.
“Symptoms can include nausea, vomiting, mild to severe abdominal cramps and watery to bloody diarrhea,” the notice said.
In severe cases, the CFIA says people may experience seizures, strokes, or require blood transfusions and kidney dialysis, live with permanent kidney damage or even die.
The food inspection agency says it is verifying that the recalled products are removed from the marketplace.
