The final location of retailer Toys “R” Us in the Calgary area has officially closed.

Officials with CrossIron Mills mall confirmed the closure with CTV News on Monday.

“Toys ‘R’ Us has operated at the centre for a number of years and is no longer in occupancy,” said Joel Tatlow, CrossIron Mills’ marketing manager, in a statement.

Tatlow said the store’s final day in business was Jan. 16.

There is no information about how many employees are affected.

The location was the final store in the Calgary area, but according to the company’s website, stores remain open in Edmonton and Lethbridge.
