Health Canada is alerting the public about a baby teether sold at Dollarama that is being recalled because of microbial contamination.

The consumer product recall is for the Disney Baby Water Teether, model 3121188. There are two types of the teether, both of which feature a hollow octagonal shape with textured sections. One product is teal with Mickey Mouse graphics, the other is pink with Minnie Mouse graphics.

During a Health Canada sampling and evaluation program, it was determined that the liquid filling inside the teethers was contaminated with the fungus Rhinocladiella similis. While usually harmless, it has the potential to cause infections in children if the liquid is ingested through a punctured product, the recall says.

The company reports that 15,289 units of the affected products were sold in Canada, between November 2023 and January 2026.

As of Jan. 14, there have been no reports of incidents or injuries from the recalled teethers in Canada.

Anyone who owns the recalled teether is asked to return the product to Dollarama for a refund. Health Canada advises anyone with questions to contact Dollarama directly through its stores, by telephone at 1-888-365-4266, Monday to Friday, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. EST, or visit the company website.
