With Winter Olympics pending, Calgary’s Abigail Strate earns second World Cup ski jumping medal of the weekend

SAPPORO — Canadian ski jumper Abigail Strate won her second World Cup medal of the weekend on Sunday with a silver.

The Calgary native finished with 129.2 points in the large hill event.

Slovakia’s Nika Prevc (134.5) and Norway’s Heidi Dyhre Traaserud (124.6), placed in first and third.

Strate also took silver in the large hill on Saturday, behind Prevc.

The 24-year-old has now medalled in three straight World Cup events.

Strate also took bronze on Wednesday in the normal hill event.
