A wrestler is apologizing after dressing up as an U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agent at an Edmonton match over the weekend.

The match, put on by Real Canadian Wrestling (RCW), featured a wrestler wearing a vest with “ICE” on the back.

ICE agents have recently come under criticism after the recent killings of American citizens Renée Good and Alex Pretti in Minneapolis, Minn.

“RCW had no creative direction or involvement in my portrayal of an ICE officer, including the music that played during my entrance,” said Stewy Seunnapha in a post to social media. “I changed my music without approval from the RCW officer or ownership and they were not aware of the vest I wore to the ring.”

In an emailed statement to CTV News Edmonton, RCW said it does not endorse or approve of the actions of the wrestler.

“RCW apologizes to any individuals or groups who were offended, disturbed, or impacted by the actions presented during the event,” said the statement. “RCW does not condone ‘the group,’ (or) its members.”

The wrestler, known as Kato, has been removed from RCW and will no longer be performing or appearing for the organization.

“I sincerely apologize for my actions and take full responsibility for them,” said Seunnapha’s post. “I can wholeheartedly say that RCW does not support ICE or their actions, and neither do I.”
