A paramedic suffered life-threatening injuries in a collision involving an ambulance and a transport truck in Madoc, Ont.
Ontario Provincial Police are investigating the two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Highway 7 and Highway 62 at around 3 p.m. Monday, about 40 kilometres north of Belleville.
Images captured by Harrison Perkins of CTV News showed a transport truck on its side and a damaged ambulance on the side of the road near the intersection.
Police say two paramedics were transported to a local hospital following the crash. One of the paramedics was later airlifted to a trauma centre by ORNGE due to life-threatening injuries.
The second paramedic is being treated for “undetermined injuries,” according to police.
The two occupants of the transport truck were taken to a local hospital as a precaution.

Police told CTV News Ottawa the ambulance is from Hastings-Quinte Paramedic Services.
The intersection was closed for nearly 24 hours following the crash because traffic lights needed to be repaired. The OPP said roads reopened at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday.
The investigation into the crash continues.
