A Bonnyville baseball coach is facing charges following an internet child exploitation investigation.
Michel (Mitch) Michaud, 48, was arrested on Jan. 28 and has been charged with possession, access and distribution of child sexual abuse and exploitation materials and one count of bestiality.
Michaud was a coach of the Bonnyville Braves, a minor league baseball team.
Investigators say there is no reason to believe any players were involved with Michaud, but the investigation is ongoing.
Police received multiple reports last year which showed child sexual abuse and exploitation material had been uploaded and shared online. Police started to investigate Michaud in November.
Forensic examination of several seized electronic devices, including a cell phone and a laptop, is pending.
Michaud has been released on court-ordered conditions that include not seeking or maintaining any volunteer or employment over a person under the age of 16. He is scheduled to appear in court on Feb. 24.
