A four-year-old girl from eastern Ontario was transported to the children’s hospital in Ottawa after an incident on a cross-country ski trail in western Quebec.
The MRC des Collines-de-l’Outaouais police say officers responded to a call on Sunday for a girl who was in cardiac arrest on a trail in Parc Nakkertok in Val-des-Monts. The park is located on Route du Carrefour.
Police say the girl was riding in a sled that was being pulled by an adult when an incident occurred.

“Several people were present at the scene. When police arrived, first responders were already on the scene and resuscitation efforts were underway,” police said.
“According to current police information, all indications suggest it was an accident.”
The girl was transported to the Wakefield Hospital before being transferred to CHEO for care. Police said there was no update on the child’s medical condition Monday morning.
Sgt. Martin Fournel said police are trying to determine what happened.
In a statement, Nakkertok Val-des-Monts thanked first responders for responding to what it called a “serious incident.”
“We wish to express our deepest gratitude to the firefighters, police officers, and paramedics for their care. We will keep you updated as soon as we have more information,” Nakkertok Nordic said on Facebook.
“Our thoughts are with the family of the injured person and all those affected within our skiing community.”
