Canadian Wrestling Elites' trailer robbed in Lloydminster, with thieves stealing a championship belt and a WWE Hall of Fame ring belonging to Davey Boy Smith.

Lloydminster RCMP are investigating a targeted theft of sentimental wrestling memorabilia and jewelry from a trailer parked at a local hotel early Wednesday morning.

Mounties say the break-and-enter occurred in a trailer between 2 a.m. and 6 a.m. outside the Central Suite Hotel parking lot near 50 Avenue and 49 Street in Lloydminister, Alta.

The Canadian Wrestling Elite (CWE) tour was in the community on Wednesday.

A WWE Hall of Fame ring belonging to wrestling icon Davey Boy Smith a.k.a. The British Bulldog, which was passed down to his son, Davey Boy Smith Jr., were among the things stolen.

A gold chain and jewelry and the CWE’s tag team championship belt was also stolen.

According to police, the suspects stole clothing, belts, jewelry and a collection of wrestling memorabilia.

Most of the stolen items — including the wrestling gear — were later recovered in a nearby alleyway.

An update Thursday evening from someone close to Smith told CTV News the ring was recovered in Lloydminster after someone tried to sell it to a gold buyer who then called the RCMP.

Mounties have made the arrest and have the ring in their custody.

The rest of the jewelry remains outstanding.

The RCMP forensic identification section also collected blood samples left at the scene and sent physical impressions for analysis.

Alberta RCMP are also asking local businesses and residents to review CCTV or dash camera footage from a one block radius between 47 and 50 Streets as well as 50 and 51 Avenues.

Anyone with information or footage is asked to contact the Lloydminster RCMP or you can submit a tip anonymously through Crime Stoppers.
