A four-year-old girl from eastern Ontario has died after an incident on a cross-country ski trail in western Quebec last week.
The MRC des Collines-de-l’Outaouais police said the girl was being pulled in a sled by an adult when the incident occurred in Parc Nakkertok in Val-des-Monts on Sunday, Feb. 22.
Police told CTV News Ottawa that “all indications suggest it was an accident.”
The girl was transported to Wakefield Hospital before being transferred to CHEO (Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario) for care.
On Monday, police said the girl died from her injuries.
An Ontario coroner is investigating the girl’s death, according to police.
Two weeks ago, a 13-year-old Ottawa girl died after an incident at Centre Vorlage in Wakefield, Que. Police said the girl’s clothing got caught on a ski lift as she reached the summit.
