Maritime gas prices increase for a fourth time in one week

Gas prices increased again over the weekend in the Maritimes.

Gas prices in the Maritimes increased again overnight following previous increases earlier this week.

This latest increase is due to “significant shifts in the market price.

Nova Scotia

In the Halifax-area, the price of diesel increased by 14.9 cents. The minimum price is now 216.4 cents per litre.

This increase follows a 10.3 per cent hike on Friday.

The price of regular self-serve gasoline did not change Saturday, however it did increase by five cents Friday. The minimum price is 152.7 cents per litre.

In Cape Breton, the price of diesel also increased by 14.9 cents. The minimum price is now 218.4 cents per litre.

The price of gasoline did not change. It remains at 154.6 cents per litre.

Prince Edward Island

On Prince Edward Island, the price of diesel jumped by 19.1 cents. The minimum price is now 229.9 cents per litre.

This follows a 6.9 cent increase on Friday.

The price of regular self-serve gasoline increased by 9.1 cents Saturday. The minimum price is now 170.2 cents per litre.

New Brunswick

In New Brunswick, the price of diesel increased by 19.4 cents. The maximum price is now 219.9 cents per litre.

This follows a 15.7 cent decrease Friday, however diesel prices shot up on Thursday.

The price of regular self-serve gasoline increased by 6.2 cents per litre. The maximum price is now 156.2.
