Costco Canada has just announced a new dessert that will be an addition to its already popular array of confectionery items: the Caramel Brownie Sundae.
The international grocery retailer first announced the treat via social media, teasing that it was the “reveal” everyone had been waiting for.
The Caramel Brownie Sundae will be joining the likes of Costco Canada’s vanilla and chocolate ice cream cones; fudge, caramel and berry sundaes, and several other dessert items.
However, while there has been no “reveal” of a price range, the retailer currently charges $3.49 before tax for sundaes on its menu.
A few days before the item was announced, the retailer had shared a social media post with a pixelated image, asking customers to take a shot at guessing the new item on its menu, leading to hundreds of comments and engagement.
However, some customers seemed disappointed with the final reveal.
“That is not a chicken bake,” @haydondewes commented on the announcement post.
“Take this back and bring the chicken bake please,” @kylagtan commented.
Another user, @novemberactuall commented: “Why is it always ice cream and never something people actually want.”
“Coffee, turkey provolone. Those are what we want. Not more ice cream options released in winter,” said another user, @livingexploringgrowing, in the comments section.
Some others seemed thrilled to hear about the new launch.
“Coffee would have been a dream come true but I’ll accept this one,” @costcofindscanada, a popular Instagram account commented.
“Looks delicious!” replied @costcomarkhameast.
Meanwhile, the menu for Costco Canada includes plenty of other popular items, including its hot dog and fountain pop deal, poutine, chicken strips and fries and pizza.
In addition to that, the retailer has also teased “something special” is on its way, following the reveal of the sundae, in a social media post.
“Psst … our Instagram EXCLUSIVE coupons are back! We’re treating our followers to something special — stay tuned for the drop,” the social media post said.
