Wasaga Beach motel fire now deemed suspicious: OPP

The Ontario Fire Marshal's office is investigating the fire that ravaged the Villa Nova motel on Mosley Street in Wasaga Beach.

The fire that ravaged a motel on the main strip in Wasaga Beach is now being considered suspicious, according to OPP, and authorities are looking for the public’s assistance.

Just before midnight on Monday, emergency crews responded to the Villa Nova Motel on Mosley Street, that when officers and firefighters arrived, was fully engulfed in flames.

Officials say the majority of the fire was contained to the second floor.

While the building is uninhabitable, those who were inside were able to escape safely and no injuries have been reported.
