Police are looking to identify a male driver after an alleged getaway from officers in Bradford and after a vehicle was recovered in Vaughan.

It started in a Bradford plaza on Holland Street West just before 2 p.m. on Saturday. According to South Simcoe Police, they began investigating a driver who was driving carelessly, and there were concerns about licence plate misuse and security of those inside.

Police say they attempted to pull the driver over, but he responded by speeding out of the plaza and westbound on Holland Street.

Another attempt to stop the vehicle reportedly resulted in the driver mounting the curb to flee through a gas station and failing to stop.

The pursuit was stopped by South Simcoe Police, citing safety concerns. Police say the vehicle was recovered in Vaughan near Cityview Drive and Highway 400.

Investigators believe the driver was travelling with a female passenger in her early 20s and a young female child under the age of two. They add that the suspect might have ties to the Bradford area.

South Simcoe Police released photos of the suspect online Saturday evening, and is asking anyone who recognizes him to contact PC Spencer Smith at spencer.smith@southsimcoepolice.ca or 905-775-3311.
