‘Immediately stop using’ these ovens, recall notice says, warning of burn risk that led to injuries

A series of Frigidaire ovens that have been recalled in Canada are shown.

Thousands of ovens are being recalled in Canada following reports of injuries here and south of the border.

An issue with certain Frigidaire ranges increases the risk of burns, a recall notice posted Thursday said.

At least one person was injured in Canada and 30 in the U.S. as a result of a total of 62 incidents reported to Frigidaire in the two countries, the notice said.

The company said the affected gas ranges, sold between June 2025 and January 2026, “can experience a delayed ignition of the oven’s bake burner.” Approximately 5,318 were sold in Canada, and 174,800 in the U.S.

Owners of the following Frigidaire, Frigidaire Gallery and Frigidaire Professional models are told to stop using them immediately:

Frigidaire said owners of the affected ranges should contact Electrolux Group to arrange for the installation of a new bake burner. These installations will be done at home for free, the notice said.

In the meantime, the cooktop burners can still be used, the company said.
