Canadian border officers say a major seizure at the Blue Water Bridge is part of efforts to combat organized crime.

The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) says officers at the Point Edward port of entry in Sarnia, Ont., seized more than $4.5 million worth of illegal tobacco and nicotine vapes over a seven‑day period.

The agency says the contraband was entering Canada from the United States.

In a statement posted on social media, the CBSA said the seizures are part of ongoing efforts to prevent illegal products from entering the country and disrupt organized crime.

No further details were released.
