A central Ontario pup is on the mend after sticking his nose and face in the wrong business.

According to Southern Georgian Bay OPP, officers received a report at around 5 p.m. on Saturday about a dog in distress on Vasey Road in Tay Township.

The caller advised police that a husky showed up on their property with its face full of porcupine pills and was in significant distress.

Police say the person caring for the dog did not have the financial means to afford the necessary medical treatment.

The OPP apprehended the husky in collaboration with animal control, and the officers brought the dog to a 24-hour vet clinic in Barrie for immediate attention.

Animal welfare officials became involved, and police confirm that the pup has received care and is being rehomed.
