Police in Windsor, Ont., are investigating a fatal collision involving a pedestrian.
Officers were called to a report of a pedestrian struck Wednesday night around 10 p.m. in the 1600 block of Tecumseh Road East, between Windermere and Lincoln roads, according to police.
Investigators said a 65‑year‑old woman was crossing the street mid‑block when she was struck by an oncoming vehicle. The impact caused her to be thrown into the opposite lane, where she was hit by a second vehicle.
The woman was taken to hospital with life‑threatening injuries and later died.
Police said the driver of the first vehicle remained at the scene, while the driver of the second vehicle did not stay.
Tecumseh Road East was closed between Windermere and Lincoln roads while the Traffic Reconstruction Unit investigated. The roadway has since reopened.
The investigation remains ongoing. Anyone with information or video footage is asked to contact Windsor police.
