Baby and toddler killed in central Alberta house fire

A baby and toddler are dead after a house fire southwest of Edmonton on Thursday.

Breton RCMP responded to the fire at a home on Township Road 482 in Brazeau County at around 12:30 p.m.

A woman and two children were able to escape the fire, RCMP said.

After the fire was extinguished, officers found a baby dead.

A toddler that was previously unaccounted for was later also found dead inside the home after a search, according to an update from police.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
