The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has added a new tool to its emergency response fleet, ready to go where traditional vehicles can’t.

The ARGO Sasquatch is an extreme-terrain vehicle built to travel across flooded areas, rough pathways and otherwise inaccessible locations.

Recently, the unit was deployed in Minden Hills to assist with flooding response efforts, helping crews to navigate the rising water and hazardous conditions and support local emergency response operations faster.

The OPP says the addition of the vehicle will improve overall public safety as it allows officers to better respond to high-water events and operate more efficiently in remote or rugged environments.
