A Calgary community group is preparing to give away 80,000 pounds of free potatoes this weekend.
Guru Nanak Free Kitchen Calgary will be set up at the McKnight-Westwinds CTrain Station on Saturday, and will begin distributing the unwashed vegetables at 1 p.m.
If you plan to snatch some spuds, you’re asked to bring your own bag to help speed up the process.
The potatoes will be available first come, first served — as supplies last.

Guru Nanak is looking for 30 volunteers to help them with their endeavour.
“Since these are loose potatoes, extra helping hands will make a big difference,” the group said in a Facebook post.
Volunteers can reach out to the organization via Facebook — or show up at the LRT station at 10:30 a.m., no registration required.
