A person has died after they were hit by a train in Guelph, Ont.
Emergency services were called to the train tracks near Gordon Street and Waterloo Avenue Tuesday afternoon.
In an email to CTV News Kitchener, the Guelph Police Service confirmed someone had been hit by a train and died.
As of 5:10 p.m., emergency responders were still working at the train station and police asked drivers to avoid the Gordon Street and Waterloo Avenue area.
The ORNGE air ambulance service confirmed they had been called to the area, but said that call was later cancelled.
A witness told CTV News they see people walking on the tracks three or four times a day.

Trains leaving Union Station were stopping at Acton GO instead of Kitchener GO due to the incident.
Just before 10 p.m., police confirmed that the area had reopened.
