Police are investigating after a pedestrian was struck and killed by a vehicle Thursday in Maple Ridge, B.C.
Mounties were called to the collision scene in the 26000 block of Lougheed Highway at approximately 5:45 a.m.
Stephanie Unrau of the Maple Ridge RCMP says the victim was “trying to corral his dogs” on the highway when he was struck.
Local police and the RCMP’s Lower Mainland Integrated Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Service (ICARS) are expected to remain on scene throughout the morning.
Drivers are advised that roads between 240th Street and 272nd Street will remain closed to traffic until further notice.
