JASPER, ALBERTA — A rock slide has forced the Mounties to close a highway near Alberta’s boundary with British Columbia.

RCMP say they have shut down a portion of Highway 16, about 12 kilometres west of Jasper, Alta.

Police say the road is closed in both directions and there is no indication of when it might reopen.

They are advising drivers to find alternate routes.

RCMP are working with Parks Canada to redirect traffic and clean up the debris.

They say there are no reports of injuries or vehicles struck by falling rocks.
