Various children’s products were recalled in Canada on Thursday due to choking and flammability hazards, according to Health Canada.
The government department published five different recalls Thursday, three of which were for children’s clothing items that may pose a burn injury risk to children.
Nebulous Star brand children’s dressing gowns and ponchos in various models were recalled for not adhering to flammability requirements, Health Canada said on its website.
“Loose-fitting children’s sleepwear can contact ignition sources such as stove elements, candles, and matches more readily than tight-fitting sleepwear, and once ignited will burn rapidly, potentially resulting in severe burns to large areas of the child’s body,” the recall notice read.

The notice said that as of last week, the company that makes the garments has received no reports of injuries of incidents in Canada. The company says that 983 units of the impacted gowns and ponchos were sold in Canada between August of last year and April of this year.
Health Canada also published recalls for a red robe and a pink nightgown, both holiday-themed items from the brand Souris Mini, noting the same flammability requirement violations and burn risks.

Groupe Souris Mini Inc. reported that 137 units of the red robe and 391 units of the pink nightgown were sold in Canada between September 2025 and April of this year.

As of last week, there have been no reported injuries or incidents involving either product in Canada, the recall notices state.
“Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled products and contact the company for a full refund,” all three recall notices say.
Toys recalled due to choking hazard
The other two recalls published by Health Canada Thursday were for children’s toys due to choking and injury hazards.
One of the recalls involves all Stephan Baby-branded Boo Bunnie and Friends children’s toys.

“The recalled toys consist of a small plush animal with a removable, distilled water-filled plastic cube that can be chilled for comfort,” the notice says.
According to the recall notice, the cube component of the toys may crack or break, posing injury and choking risks to children.
“As of March 31, 2026, the company has received no reports of incidents or injury in Canada,” the notice read.
“In the United States, (the) U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission has received 20 reports of the toy’s cube cracking or breaking into small parts, including one report of a child swallowing sharp pieces.”
The company reported that 1,359 units of the affected products were sold in Canada between August 2017 and May 2025.
“Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled toy’s plastic cube and take it away from children,” the notice read.
Also recalled in Canada is the children’s stuffed animal Build-A-Bear Workshop Heartwarming Hugs Bear 2.

Its recall notice says the product is a large, weighted bear with a side pouch that contains 2.5 pounds of ceramic beads that can be heated or cooled.
“The pouch is secured with a zipper,” the notice says. “In a small number of instances zipper slider detaches from the zipper at the neck seam creating a small parts hazard.”
No injuries or incidents had been reported as of April 8, according to the notice, which stated that 519 of the impacted products were sold in Canada between January and March of this year.
Consumers are advised to stop using the recalled product immediately and return it to a local Build-A-Bear Workshop store to receive a refund.
