OTTAWA - The Bank of Canada said on Wednesday that the regulations for Canada-based stablecoins could be launched by mid or late 2027.
“The process of designing the regulations is well underway right now,” Senior Deputy Governor Carolyn Rogers said in testimony to Canada’s Senate.
She said the plan to introduce the regulations by early 2027 was ambitious and it could be launched by mid or late 2027.
