The mother of a Renfrew, Ont., man who was shot to death three years ago is calling for witnesses to her son’s killing to come forward and tell police what they know.

Jonathan Logan, 41, was found with gunshot wounds at a home on Vimy Boulevard on May 19, 2023, and was pronounced dead in hospital. The shooter has yet to be found.

In a video released by the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) on Thursday, Logan’s mother, Catherine Logan, shared her memories of the night she found out her son had been killed.

“One of the officers started talking about an incident that happened over on Vimy… and said that there had been a shooting, and there had been a victim, and that Jonathan, my son, was the victim, and that’s how I found out my son had died at the hands of a gunman,” she said.

“Jonathan was my only child. I wonder sometimes, am I still a mom?”

OPP believe Jonathan had been deliberately targeted.

Police said there were several other people in the house the night Jonathan was shot who also fled.

Catherine Logan says one of those people knows something and needs to come forward.

“I know a lot of them know something, and I understand they’re scared. I would be too, but it’s my son and I need answers. How you guys can live with yourselves right now, I don’t know, but you need to step up,” she said.

“Jonathan was a protector. He would have stood up for any one of his friends. And if something like this had happened to one of his friends, he would have done the right thing.”
