A motorcycle was left hanging from a traffic light standard above an intersection after a crash in Delta, B.C.

Speed is believed to have been a factor in a crash that left a motorcycle hanging off of a traffic light standard in Metro Vancouver Saturday afternoon, according to authorities.

Officers were called to the intersection of Scott Road and 71st Avenue for reports of a crash between a car and a motorcycle around 3 p.m., the Delta Police Department said in a statement.

“The motorcycle rider sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to hospital. The driver of the vehicle did not sustain any injuries,” police said, in the statement.

“Speed is believed to be a contributing factor.”

Photos and video show the eyebrow-raising scene at the intersection, where first responders worked throughout the afternoon to investigate.
